hey tigerman, yes u can get reinstatement. i'm talking from my personal experience. Cosult with your international advisor, follow thru all the paper work, stay calm and pray. Have the advisor send a letter supporting your situation, that helps as well. Stay at school throughout the process. it does take a little while and luck as well i guess but it is possible. IDK wat is the reason in ur situation but if you have good academic standing u will get reinstated.

I did reinstatement last year. I was out of status due to less then 12 credit hrs. but I was always good standing student. It took almost 6 months to get the final decision. DONT panic, continue going school and try to repeat the courses which you have failed or got bad grade. Try to upgrade your GPA.

In my situation, i had good academic standing. I became out of status because i was taking classes in different branch of same school and had an I-20 from different branch. It kind of was my advisor's fault because i had been in contact with her the whole time. So i got her to support me on all that time. May be ask your advisor to contact them. I was on top of it the whole time. it did take me around 4 and half month or so. I actually applied for OPT after that and got that too. I completely understand the stress tigerman. I use feel like i could not breath at times.good luck!!
