 ऊ स्तब्ध छे आज , बोल्दिन केही
म सोध्छु, कोट्ट्याउँछु उस्लाई, तर अहँ
जवाफमा शून्य बाहेक केही छैन
हताश हुन्छु, तर हरेस खादिँन म
तितर्-बितर आशाहरु बटुलेर फेरी कोट्ट्याउँछु उस्लाई 

झर्को मान्दै ऊ कड्किन्छे 
"मनको कुरो आँफै बुझ्नुपर्छ, भनेर भनिदैन!
नत्र मायाको के धाक लगाउँछस?"
म निशब्ध हुन्छु, फेरी बोल्ने आँट हुँदैन
शब्द सासको बाधक बनी गलामा अड्किन्छन्

म उसको मन नियाल्ने चेष्टा गर्दछु
उसका अब्यक्त कुराहरु खोतल्ने कसरत
मेरो त्यो अनवरत प्रयास पर्याप्त हुँदैन
ऊ निसंकोच त्यस्लाई "नौटंकी" संज्ञा दिन्छे
निरीह प्रेमी म पागल, चुपचाप सहिदिन्छु
