 सिड्नी-अस्ट्रेलियाको डिपार्टमेन्ट अफ इमिग्रेशन एण्ड बोर्डर प्रोटेक्सनले पछिल्लो एक वर्षमा कोर्स परिवर्तन गर्ने र महंगो कलेज छाडेर सस्तो कलेजमा ट्रान्सफर लिने २ सय २४ नेपाली विद्यार्थीको भिसा रद्ध गरिदिएको छ । इमिग्रेशनका प्रवक्ताकाअनुसार सन् २०१३ र २०१४ को बीचमा मात्रै २२४ नेपाली र ६५९ भारतीय विद्यार्थीको भिसा रद्ध गरिएको हो ।
इमिग्रेशनले नेपालबाट महंगो कलेजमा गएर अस्ट्रेलियामा कलेज परिवर्तन गरी सस्तोमा भर्ना हुने त्यस्ता विद्यार्थीको भिसा रद्ध गरिदिएको हो । यसलाई उसले 'घोष्ट स्टुडेन्ट' प्रवृति भनेको छ । त्यस्ता घोष्ट स्टुडेन्टमा विश्वविद्यालय अथवा कलेजमा कम उपस्थित हुने र बाँकी धेरै समय पैसा कमाउन खर्चिने विद्यार्थीहरु समेत परेका छन ।
स्ट्रीमलाइन भिसामा अस्ट्रेलिया प्रवेश गरी सस्तो कलेजमा भर्ना लिनेलाई कोर्स हपिङ भनिन्छ, यस्ता विद्यार्थीहरुको पनि भिसा रद्ध हुने सम्भावना देखिएको कुरा इमिग्रेशन सहायक मन्त्री मिसेलिया क्याले जानकारी गराए ।
यही कारणले विशेष गरी नेपाली र भारतीय मूलका भिसा रद्ध गरिएका विद्यार्थीहरुलाई फर्काउने तयारी पनि अस्ट्रेलियन सरकारले तीब्र रुपले अगाडि बढाइसकेको छ । अस्ट्रेलियन इमिग्रेशनका प्रवक्ताले नेपाली तथा भारतीय मूलका विद्यार्थीहरु आफ्नो अध्ययनको क्षेत्र र समाजमा राम्रो योगदान पुर्याएका भएतापनि अस्ट्रेलियाको कानुन मिच्नेलाई सरकारले छोड्न नसक्ने बताए । साउथ एसिया डटकमडट एयुले जनाएअनुसार २०१३/०१४ मा मात्रै ३४,१३० भारतीय र १०,६५१ नेपाली विद्यार्थीहअरुलाई अस्ट्रेलियन सरकारले स्टुडेन्ट भिसा प्रदान गरेको थियो ।
त्यसैगरी सन् २०११-०१२ मा २,५३,०४६ र २०१२/२०१३ मा २,५९,२७८ अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीले अस्टे्रलियामा पढ्नका लागि भिसा पाएका थिए । जसमध्ये २०११/०१२ मा १०,५८७ र २०१२/२०१३ मा ८,९३० जनाको भिसा रद्ध गरिएको थियो । इमिग्रेशनका विभागकाअनुसार विद्यार्थीको भिसा रद्ध गरिनुका विभिन्न कारणहरु छन । जसमध्ये पढ्नका लागि मान्यता दिइएको भिसाको कोर्स रिक्युवारमेन्ट पूरा नगर्नु र भिसामा तोकिएको भन्दा बढी काम गर्नु मुख्य कारणका रुपमा रहेका छन ।
'ती सबै विद्यार्थीहरुलाई इमिग्रेशनले भिसा रद्ध गर्नुको कारणबारे जानकारी दिइसकेको छ,' इमिग्रेशन प्रवक्ताले भने, 'उनीहरुलाई हामीले भिसा किन रद्ध नगर्ने भन्ने कारण पनि मागेका छौं । उनीहरु यदि बस्न चाहन्छन भने कारण दिनुपर्छ ।' प्रवक्ता कारण भने विश्वसनीय हुनुपर्ने बताए । विश्वसनीय कारण दिएमा रद्ध भएको भिसामा हेरफेर हुन सक्छ । तर, यो सम्भावना एकदमै न्युन छ ।

FunTush for getting PR yes. But Aus is too hard for student in compare to USA. They have to pay alot than US. I have a friend over there who work 7 days just to pay tuition fee

After spending thousands of dollars, if this happens to anybody then its really sad. Parents and students should be aware that going abroad for studies is not what they dream of. With such a high cost of education, their young life can be hell. I truly believe, we can have quality education in less price at your own country at least in undergraduate level. And also, I can hardly understand the stress the undergraduate students will go through during their stay away from home. They have to study, get socialize, pay for their tuition and above all will have pressure of earning money. Please don't send teenagers to abroad study.
