Say u apply for i-130 today, add 3-5 months for i130 processing, 1 month for NVC transfer, then 2-4 minths for NVC and consular processing. So around 6-9 months

You can also invite ur dad on tourist visa and apply for i130 n i485 at once after few months of hus arrival, he can stay with you till he gets GC. This is the fastest way but he has to get tourist visa.

Thanx ny2 for ur info. I also thought of applying on tourist visa but the chance of getting visa is 50-50 on tourist visa.
