Hi,

Does a Nepali passport holder require a tourist visa for India? I thought not but the Indian Consulate in Toronto tells me my cousin will require one. My cousin is a Nepali passport holder with Canadian residency.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Nepali citizens holding Nepali passports do not require visa to visit India or even to work, stay there. I guess the consulate there doesn't know about this requirements. I was in India a month ago stayed there for two days. and everything was OK. Well I don't know if they have changed the rules lately which I highly doubt. If the rules were changed, I am sure we would have heard something about it from Nepali media or in sajha itself.

Thanks tat_tatto_chiya.

And it should make no difference which part of the world a Nepali passport holder is travelling from?

KnownStranger, you need VISA to go to india if you are traveling from China, I had to take Indian visa to make such travel and one of my friend was returned from Delhi airport and was not allowed to get into city. i think visa is required if you are traveling from china (maybe pakistan also, though i am not sure of pak).
