Hey folks, Do u guys know if we can join school (part time or full time) during the OPT period and work as well. Or can we work part time and join school. Suggestion please.

As soon as you join school during OPT ( does not matter whether part time or full time) the OPT gets cancelled and invalid. Hence, you can not work legally using your OPT card. Sparrow

you can only take part time class during opt. i don't think your OPT will get canceled as far as i know, but during your opt period you cannot take full time class for sure. If you want to know more you can ask your international adviser,may be different college might have different rules. i'm on opt and taking part time class(4 credit).

If you wanna validate your OPT thru out the given periods, you cannot transfer to any institutions and if you do so, your OPT will be automatically terminated. And you cannot take full credits (12 credits) while on OPT! But as Khusbhu said, check out with your DSO - they are the experts! Good Luck!
