Users need to be warned that when you install any type of toolbars, they have access to all of your activities in the web and can be used as a tracking device as far as what websites you visit. If they want they could probably track your keyboard entries as well.
Right now google toolbar tracks all of your website visits and if you have a gmail account you can log in to see your own history of sites visited or searches made.

If u got a gmail acc (most prolly have) and u log in to check ur mails and u dont sign out, then ure signed in to google as well..so when u search, they store ure info..
Best way to avoid EVERYTHING is turn cookies off, turn JS off, if u got chrome, Ctrl+shift+N for anon surfing mode, FF then create new anon profile, if IE, go jump off a cliff..
if ure extra paranoid and need to hide ure IP as well (all websites have access to ure IP! ZOMG!) then u can invest some time in finding out a good proxy-tunnelling scheme and surf in peace of mind.

That is not true. As you know, web requests are stateless and unless someone is on the website's page, they cannot gather any information, with the exception of 1. having google search toolbar ie in firefox/IE 2. the website you are going to has google ads.
Nopes try it. sign into gmail. and without signing out, search google. ure still signed on and it logs ure request.. :) Not many ppl remember to sign out, google takes advantage of this and keeps u logged on to their services. Unless u change browsers in which case ud have to sign in again.
oh of course when you search in google you are in their site so obviously they know what you're searching. I was talking about tracking your website visits.
