 taking a semester break

hi guys..i need some information in taking a semester break..i have to go to nepal in the middle of september so preferably i am thinking of a break for the semester that starts after summer holidays..i am now confused that  should i have to stay in nepal the whole semester break period or i can come back before that ..guys i would appreciate a lot if any of you would share information regarding that thing and one more thing do the port of entry officials give problems in such kind of case while re-entering? i have my valid visa and i am in full status just the thing is i have worked off campuses using my SSN.I hope help from anyone who have as much information they have.
