 This isn't true.
I am here in Korea and several of my friends and relatives have gone to Nepal via Guanzhao (which is a cheaper route as well BTW) and didn't require transit visa.
So, if u hols a Nepali passport, dont worry, you will be fine.

How long is the transit? If it is less than 24 hours, I dont think you will need a transit visa but if it is over 24 hours, you might have to apply for one.

Read under Visa-free transit.

Thank you for your replies. My travel agent checked with the Chinese embassy and they told her that Nepalis do need a trasit visa. So travelling through China is ruled out. However, I managed to get an aeven cheaper ticket through Delhi so it has all worked out. Thank you...

What's the amout that you're referring to as "cheap", if I may ask? Just curious as I live in the West Coast too.

Thuldai, I don't think $1650 via Delhi is a 'cheap' fare even for the peak season. Please check more websites like bookingbuddies and tripadvisor etc.
