Cant see any reason why?
Just coz they speak the same language and share the same culture doesnot mean we need to support them. Supporting Gurkhaland movement means interfareing with other countys' internal matter, which is never acceptable to the citizen and the government of that country.
I would neither support nor interfare with that. Its not my headache at all.

I would support it only if I am comfortable with India supporting Ek Madhes Ek Pradesh or some bullcrap like that.

Of course we should support, but not when crackheads like this Bimal Gurung are leading the mobs. He was the leader of the killing squad of the GNLF in the 80s, and then amassed wealth as a councillor under Ghinsingh. Now, suddenly, he gets inspired by Gandhism and non-violence. Friggin crackheads!

There ain't a leader in Darjeeling worth his salt which the mob can understand and follow. A few who actually talk some sense are hounded by the very goons who brag about democracy etc. So, as of now, no, no one should support goons like Bimal, but we should support the concept of Grkhaland. It is a good cause, and it is something which has a lot of merit.

This does not compare to Madhes demand. India already has s system where states are created on linguistic basis, and sometimes, on the basis of economic prudence. Gorkhaland makes perfect sense on both grounds, apart from giving Nepalis in India a sense of identity and recognition. However, the current leaders of this movement will make Darjeeling worse than earstwhile Bihar if they get a state.
